Jury’s reports:

'Flynn Von Kleist brings out powerful performances in this heartfelt and emotional tale about real people fighting against hardship in a big world.' Hany Abu-Assad, Director (Paradise Now, Omar, The Mountain Between Us)

'Far too much on this boy's shoulder' Jan Harlan, Producer (The Shining, Full Metal Jacket, Eyes Wide Shut)

'What makes you ‘family’? It's a question I've been asking myself all my life, from my personal experience. Is caring for each other something that makes family? But sometimes a non-biological ‘family member’ like a friend or a foster parent (in the film) takes better ‘care’ of you - with more sincerity and less selfishness - than someone with whom you have a blood connection. But still you can't get away, yet "family" is something elusive, you can't run away from it. Beautifully portrayed, the resilience of people, of children. Young and old keep trying, but seem unable to break old patterns.' Parwin Mirrahimy, Programmer at De Balie

'A heartfelt story that is at times a bit hard to watch. Perfect blend for something that matters so much.' Vincent van Ommen, Actor (The Dark Knight Rises, Amsterdam Heavy)
