Drama series based on the bestseller by journalist Thomas Rueb: How an ordinary girl was the first Dutch IS convert to return from the caliphate alive.
How did the ordinary Laura from Zoetermeer become the most famous Syrian traveler in the Netherlands? Numerous other girls in a similar situation preceded her, but couldn’t be tempted to travel to 'the promised land'. So what motivated Laura to leave her old life behind to join IS?
This project is made in collaboration with Dutch broadcaster VPRO and Belgian broadcaster VRT and will be released in 2023.
